Project for Natal Drums

Several weeks ago I embarked upon a project to aid the production of a custom drum kit by Natal Drums, which involved painting some medical grade resin bones to match two skulls which had already been painted prior to purchase. I was provided with two forearms with hands attached and two detached hands, as the creators were not sure at the time how many arms/hands they would require.

The bones took two days to complete using various shades of acrylic paint applied by both brush and sponge. I particularly enjoyed adding the shadow detail as this added a little realism to the bones, and I also mimicked some of the wear and tear that was painted on the reference skulls.

And here is the final kit being displayed at Frankfurt Musikmesse;

Only one of the arms was used in the final build, but I'm so pleased to have been able to play a part, albeit a small one! Thanks Natal!
